Recently, national core education standards have taken front stage in several state’s political theatres.  The Common Core” standards have questionable origins.  On the surface, they violate almost every states’ rights principle in the U.S. Constitution.  Parents, families, and students need to know where this Nationalized approach to eduction has come from.

Education is NOT a Constitutional mandate.  The federal government has NO CLAIM on education delivery within our states.  Yet, since Pres. Jimmy Carter created the government agency in 1979, the United States Department of Education has continued to encroach on individual states’ abilities to determine through local control what is best for our children.
